Day With Adeline
Hi.
Oh what fun Adeline and I had today. It was absolutely great! You must listen to what we did!
Adeline had just come in to town, when we were starting to cook breakfast. We were having eggs and toast. Adeline had said that she already ate breakfast, but from the travel she was hungry. Adeline and I were excited about what fun we would have, so we hurried and ate our eggs and toast.
After eggs and toast, I decided to show her around the village. She was surprised at the stores we had. Whenever we would walk pass one she would whisper, ” I didn’t know you had that store.” I found it weird. I think she wanted to go in to them though, because she kept on pulling my hand. Finally I let us go in. We went to this one store, and we tried on tons of clothes, I was laughing so much, my stomach hurt. After playing dress-up in the store we went to meet Algoma.
Algoma’s house is the biggest in the village. It’s the biggest because her father is the chief. Mother gets nervous when we get in to fights, I don’t see why. Algoma gets a lot of toys, and she is spoiled. She says its because she’s ” daddy’s little princess” She has no brothers or sisters. I don’t think Adeline liked her much. She kept making this sour face. I thought Algoma was being a tiny bit rude, and that is why. Okay, I lied. Algoma was being very rude. I think Algoma thought Adeline would steal me away from her. Haha, I wouldn’t let that happen.
Anyways, it was lunchtime so we had to go home. For lunch we had some chicken and milk. It was tasty. For dessert we got to have donuts. Yummy! We were going to go swimming right after lunch, but we had to wait until our food was digested. We played some card games until Mother said we could go.
I jumped in to the water, and I accidentally splashed Adeline. She giggled. It was a weird giggle though. It sounded like a pig! Anyways, after I accidentally splashed her, she jumped in, and started splashing me, in the face! We were giggling a whole bunch that day. We swam for the rest of the day. It got ugly just before supper.
Adeline and I were playing some games in the water when my worst nightmare came. His name is Akecheta. We heard him coming, so I decided that we should leave, it was suppertime anyways. We were just getting out when he got here. And this is the conversation we had.
” Hi missy. Where do you think your going?”
” We were just about to leave. ”
” Oh, and you think I would let you leave without bugging you?”
” I knew you would bug me, but I was hoping you forgot.”
And the next thing I knew, I was back in the water. With ALL my clothes on. Boy, was Mother mad. After supper, Adeline’s father came to pick her up. I was a really good day; too bad it didn’t end better!
I can’t wait until the next time she comes. It will be even better than today! Anyways, Mother is calling me to go to bed. Night.

That was so much fun. But Algoma was rude to me. Now I can see where so gets it from. She always gets her way. That boy was also rude to you. I didn’t know some people could be so rude. Well it was a fun day anyways and that was a good lunch and breakfast. I wish I had meals like that all the time. But we just have to get used to it first here then maybe we might be able to get a cow for milk and pig for meat.
But I am going, mother is calling me.

Yes, I must agree with you. It was a great day, and some great meals. I didn’t know people could get so rude either. It’s like we are being treated as the bottom of their shoes, they just don’t care. I hate it when Algoma gets her way. She thinks that she is the boss of everyone. It is sad to think that one day she might become chief. Akecheta can be nice some times. When he is nice, I think he could be a great friend, that is until he turns around and is really rude to me. I hate that.
I have to go get some eggs. Bye!
