In Canada!
I have just arrived in Canada yesterday. It looks really nice here. Tomorrow there is going to be a town festival. I never been to one before. I wonder what they are like and I wonder if i meet anybody. That would be great. Because then I would have friends there. Just hope nothing bad happens. That wouldn’t be good. But so far we are doing good. Almost everything’s unpacked and we got some gift baskets from people around us. There aren’t very many English people though. There are lots of Natives. Not that our colony came here, its almost all French! Well I do have friends just not many, they are all from France. Tonight there is a festival and we got invited. Its for the city. I also might meet a girl names Nayeli. I don’t know what people are like here so I don’t know what’s going to happen. Also we found out that there was a fur trade post up the river.
I can’t wait until tonight, I never been to a festival before. But I heard you do lots, like dance and there is going to be a fire and lots more. We didn’t have much like that in France. We just had to work all the time. Here you can take a day off a week. That’s awesome because then my sister can take a break and spend more time with us. I found out that no one works on special occasions. But I only know a couple.
Tomorrow I think my brothers and dad are going back out hunting and fishing. Then they said they might bring me to the fur trading post. I love canoe rides. When I have spare time, I take our canoe down to the lake and go for a ride. That was in France though. I don’t know if I will be able to do that here because it’s a city and we lived in a town, I think I might have to stay with someone at all times. Oh well, my mom can come with me. She likes canoeing too. We used to go almost every night. But I don’t know about now, we have lots to do and I don’t think we have time. We still have to un-pack some of our things and we have to get settled in. Our colony is really big so were spread out all over the city. Lots of times all the men get together and go hunting. Sometimes the girls get together too but we don’t do lots. We just do our everyday things. Like what we do at home.
But I got to go now. It’s time to go to the fair.

Hi.
Wow. That must have been a long and tiring trip! I am surprised that you have enough energy to get almost everything unpacked. I know that I would be sore! I have never heard of a colony before. Of course I hear my parents talking about people coming and taking our land. Its a scary thought.
Here, the festivals are great! They are a ton of fun. We usually don’t have rides, but I guess they decided to this year. My dad gets all grumpy when the festivals come to town. He says that he uses too much money on this kind of thing. He needs to spend his money on more wiser things. I think its nice when he pays for our tickets. He doesn’t go on rides though, so maybe he gets grumpy from spending it all on us and he doesn’t get any. With him, you never know.
I love canoeing too. It gets really rough in this one river that I found. Mother lets me go out alone, partly because I didn’t tell her that the river can get really violent. If I told her she would get really mad at me, and I wouldn’t be able to go canoeing alone again. Maybe I can show you the river. That would be great, wouldn’t it?
Anyways, I really have to go. Bye!
Yours truly, Nayeli

Hey. Yeah that would be great if you could show me the river. I would have to bring my brother with me though. Oh well he’s funny.
I did have lots of fun at the festival too!
But I am going to go…
